　　本片讲述了长崎县云仙山麓里隈部一家五口人的故事，16年来母亲通过编写家庭简报，记述着抚养3个孩子的点点滴滴。小儿子的出生为这个家庭带来了一些不安，因为他患有智障。但是隈部家还是保持着开朗的心情，反而从小儿子的身上学到了很多，找到了家庭和睦、养育子女的真谛。

　　This is a story of a five-member family living in the mountainous area of Un Zen in Nagasakiken, Japan. For sixteen years, the mother has been continuously writing briefings about how she brought up the three children. The birth of the youngest son once upset the household, as the kid is mentally disabled. However, the family is optimistic. They have learnt a lot from the youngest child, and eventually found out how to raise children and maintain a harmonious family.
